Just completed my lastest ecclesiastical mosaic commission with Woodlands Methodist Church in Harrogate, where we created four floor mosaics for the new sensory garden during four day-long mosaic workshops with members of the congregation and local community groups – from pre-schoolers to the elderly, including the visually impaired and members with learning difficulties.

The mosaics feature the four evangelists, much in the tradition of the Byzantines – complete with gold smalti.

Luke the ox.
Matthew the angel.
John the eagle.
Mark the lion.

They were created using the indirect method ie in reverse on brown paper before applying to 40cm sq paving slabs.

Please see www.schoolmosaic.co.uk about the provision of mosaic sessions/projects in schools.

If you would like to discuss a taught school session, mosaic workshop or community art project please send an email or call 07929 884759.
